Queenstown We Hardly Knew Ya
Quick update – our second day in Queenstown was a total wash out. It rained and snowed all day long. The locals said that they never get weather like this at this time of year. Oy.
The toughest part was the next morning when we left for the airport and we could finally see all that we’d missed. We immediately started thinking about when we could come back to Queenstown. Definitely in the summertime.
Annie was determined to get photos.
Thankfully, our flights from Queenstown to Rotorua were both on small planes, so they had to fly close to the ground. We had an incredible aerial tour of the country from the South Island up to the North Island. In our effort to find a silver lining in the huge cloud that had covered our last couple of days…having this beautiful day to fly was a real gift.
This is what it looked like as we were landing in Rotorua. Hello, sunshine! We are excited to see what this hot little town (Rotorua is built on a field of geothermal activity) has to offer.
