Wet ‘n Wild Koh Samui
Team SE Asia’s final stop together was in Koh Samui, Thailand.
We had a very VIP welcome when we arrived at our hotel (big shout out to the gang at The Buri Rasa Village).
On our first night, we were all so tired that we just sat on the beach and stared at the moon. And, tried to squish it. (This was a running theme that we saw for lots of other picture-takers during our trip – it was either “squish the pagoda” or “hold the temple in your hand.”) Ah, the fun.
The next day, the weather was a little iffy but we managed to get in several hours of beach fun. And, we met this really nice family (Happy 70th Birthday, Carol!) As we are writing this, we are now very sorry we didn’t get a group picture.
Unfortunately, the weather really turned ugly for the rest of our trip.
So, there was a lot of this.
In between a lot of this.
And, then more of this.
And, this.
As we darted in between downpours (and bars), we did meet Satang, one of the world’s greatest dogs.
And, we saw one of the most memorable cover bands, Black Rose. There is nothing quite like a Thai throat singer doing a version of Black Sabbath’s Iron Man. Trust us, Michael has video – you do not want to miss this.
We leave tonight for a short stay at the Bangkok Airport Novotel. We all look forward to coming back to Koh Samui, but not during the rainy season.
