Day Nine - Heaven on Earth?

Bariloche, Argentina might just be the most beautiful place on the planet.  And, there's chocolate.  Lots and lots of chocolate.

The pictures don't do these views justice. The view is of Lake Moreno and Lake Nahuel Huapi. Lake Moreno is named after Perito Moreno an Argentinian naturalist who was the first white man to set foot in the region. Moreno was also responsible for keeping the area protected as a national park. As the Argnetinians say "un tipazo," quite a guy.

To see the entire area, we took a chair lift to the top of Cerro Campanario. Michael has clearly conquered his fear of heights.

This guy welcomed us at the top.  Annie's mom would have loved this.

National Geographic Magazine named this one of the seven most beautiful views in the world.  (Not our two mugs...what's behind us).

In the last post, we mentioned the Germans and the Swiss...well, the Italians came here, too.  And, some combination of all of the above brought fantastic chocolate making (and gelato) to this region.  In downtown Bariloche, there is a chocolate shop or five on every block.  This = a trip to the hotel gym in the morning.
