Merry Christmas from Vienna
It’s hard to imagine a place more classically "Christmas" than Vienna. The Christmas markets are spectacular, the lights are stunningly beautiful, the holiday treats are delicious…
…and the music…well, it’s everywhere. The sound of church bells ringing, concerts in every imaginable public space and, of course, the opera. We were lucky enough to see La Cenerentola (a modern day Cinderella) - by Gioachino Rossini at the Vienna State Opera House.
And, then there were these guys who were surprisingly great.
It’s truly a magical time to be here. Our friend Nichola helped to make this stop extra special by traveling through Vienna for a night on the way to see her family in London for the holidays.
We’ve seen incredible art at Mumok, Albertina, Leopold and Belvedere. Here are just a few of our favorites.
And, my personal favorite…this is Michael looking at art.
We’ve got a relaxing next couple of days planned for Christmas Eve and Christmas. Then, we’ll say good-bye to John and Pat on Saturday (they travel back to NYC on Monday) and make our way to our next stop…Florence.
