We Meet Atlas(t)
We spent a lot of the last two days driving around the High Atlas Mountains, but we did get to see parts of Morocco that most tourists miss. Have we mentioned before that this trip is a real adventure? It’s redefining what that word means for all of us.
We got to see Kasbah Telouet which was a massive, stunning palace in the early 1600’s. Today, there’s very little left of it, but the mosaic behind this post is from one of the palace walls.
This is a photo taken through one of the palace windows.
Next, we went to Ksar Ait Ben Haddou. We’ve said a few times that we have felt like we’re on a movie set here in Morocco. Today, we really were on a movie set! Ksar Ait Ben Haddou is the Hollywood of Morocco. Ali Baba (1954), Lawrence of Arabia (1961), Indiana Jones (1996), Gladiator (1998-99), Prince of Persia (2008), season three of Game of Thrones (2012) and many others have been shot here. Our pictures don’t do this place justice.
Now, we’re off Marrakech where the Molanphy Mob will get a little R & R before flying home this coming weekend.

One of the views from above. We don't know these people, but how cute are they?
A little perspective on the size and scope.

These are production photos from Game of Thrones Season Three - Amelia Clarke (Mother of Dragons) is on the right.
This is marriage counseling, Berber-style. (All the props were actually used in The Gladiator.)
