CDMX-TRAS
We are at the airport getting ready to fly to Merida where we’ll spend the rest of our time in Mexico. Here are a few more pics of our time in CDMX.
Frida and Diego? Oy. Aubrey made us do this.
Cute Aubrey and Michael at one of the markets.
Aubrey and Annie with the Moon Pyramid.
The Day of the Dead is November 1, but the celebration of the spirits is ever-present in Mexico City.
We had lunch one day at this restaurant called “La Gruta” near the pyramids – if you are in this neck of the woods, don’t miss it. It was fun to eat in a cave!
But, when you are here - you can skip this local specialty. Anything with “chapulines” means “grasshoppers.” I wanted to eat like a local, so I ordered this. Ugh. We scraped all of the grasshoppers off, but for the record – I did take a “no thank you” bite so I can officially say I ate a fried grasshopper. Aubrey tried one at a local market. Michael ate one at Lismosneros. They love their chapulines in Mexico City.
Family photo from our last night.
Peter and Carolina – we are on our way!
