Hey, Hey, Hey, Copenhagen!

It’s been another COVID-filled year, but we’re finally back on the road for work and managed to combine a business trip to Paris with some fun before that in beautiful Copenhagen. (There was also the mix-up with a dinner reservation that we booked in April, but that’s another story for another day.)

From the moment we stepped off the plane, the signs were all around us…Copenhagen, we’ve come here to eat!

But, we’re also here to see this amazing city (in between meals). Some pics below from our boat tour with “Hey, Captain!” A great name for the touring company (looking at you, Lisa and Brian) and an even greater experience with our guide, Emelia.

Beautiful Copenhagen canal

Doing our best to stay awake on Day One

Not your typical houseboats…

…and not your typical power plant! This uses waste water to provide 30% of the electricity to the city AND it has a ski slope on top!

Thanks for a great day, Emelia!

We promise not to post ALL food pics, but we highly recommend Rosmarino for dinner. It’s in a touristy area, but was perfect for our first night. Plus it’s in our hotel (71 Nyhavn) which also serves a great breakfast, but Emelia recommended Apollo so we had two breakfasts this morning. Yeah, it’s going to be that kind of trip.

Banana bread from Apollo. Healthy? Maybe just delicious…

Next up - lunch at Kodbyens Fiskebar! Thank you, Jen Kraska, for the delicious recommendation. We walked there and back, so that was a great way to see Copenhagen and burn off a few calories.

This is the best monkfish we’ve ever had, but I have to admit - we had heard about the fish 'n chips, so we ordered another entree for desert. Is that wrong?

This is the sunset from last night, but a great way to end this post. We’re taking it easy tonight and just eating light somewhere near our hotel because tomorrow is the really big food experience…NOMA, here we come!
