Memories were made in Merida!.  And, so were all of these gorgeous pieces of art and furniture.

This is a great article from Forbes about all-things-Merida called “10 Reasons to Visit Now” –

We really get it!  And, we highly encourage anybody who wants to see Mexico beyond its beaches to spend some time here.  This city of 1M is a hidden gem, but its growing ex-pat community knows this won’t last for long.  Americans, Canadians, and Europeans are moving here to enjoy the low cost of living, the friendly locals, and warm and peaceful winters (Merida was also recently named “Safest City” and “The Best Place to Live in Mexico”).

Aubrey left this morning (we miss you, Aubrey!!).  Michael and I spent our last day visiting one of the seven wonders of the new world, Chichen Itza, a complex of Mayan ruins centrally located about two hours from Merida on the northern half of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. In ancient, pre-Colombian times, Chichen Itza was a vibrant city with a diverse population of tens of thousands of Mayan people. Today, the site is home to the remnants of many ancient Mayan structures, including the famed El Castillo pyramid that dominates the site’s center.

A big thank you to all of our friends and family who took care of Flash & Fumo while we were on our Mexican adventure.  And, an extra big thank you to Peter and Carolina who made our Merida experience so special.
